Documents Checklist — Complete List for Posted Workers

2025-03-12 4 min read

A DREETS inspector can arrive without warning at any time. Below is the full list of documents a worker posted to France should carry, or that should be available with the representative.

Documents the worker carries

1. SIPSI confirmation

The worker should have a printed or PDF copy of the SIPSI declaration with the reference number. An inspector may ask for it at any time.

2. BTP card (construction sector)

Mandatory for BTP sector workers. A plastic card with photo and CNETP number. No card means immediate inspector intervention.

3. A1 certificate

An EU social security form confirming coverage under the home country's system. Printed on an official EU form. The worker should carry the original or a certified copy.

4. Identity document

A passport or national ID card valid throughout the posting period. Only EU-format documents are fully accepted.

Documents held by the representative / employer

5. Employment contract

A copy of the worker's contract. A French or English translation is recommended, though not formally required. The contract must state the wage.

6. Payslips for the posting period

Documents confirming actual payment of wages at least equal to SMIC. These are essential when an inspector checks wage compliance.

7. Working time records

A log of the worker's hours. In France, missing time records are themselves grounds for a fine.

8. Representative's contact details

The worker should know their representative's name, phone number, and address. An inspector may call or visit the representative directly.
