SIPSI Step by Step — How to Register a Posted Worker in France
The SIPSI declaration is a mandatory document that every foreign company must submit before posting a worker to France. Below we walk through the full process — from creating your account to receiving confirmation.
What is SIPSI?
SIPSI (Système d'Information sur le Détachement International) is the French Ministry of Labour's electronic system for registering posted workers. The portal is at teleservice.travail.gouv.fr.
The system runs 24/7. Access requires a company account. The interface is available in English and French.
Who must file a SIPSI?
Every foreign employer posting a worker to France — regardless of industry, duration, or number of workers. The only exception is postings under eight days in non-construction sectors, but lawyers recommend always filing for safety.
What information is required?

- Company name and legal form

- REGON number (or other registration number)
- French representative details (name, address, phone)

- Full name
- Date and place of birth

Step 1 — Create an account on the SIPSI portal
Go to teleservice.travail.gouv.fr and create a company account. You need an email address and must verify your identity. The process takes a few minutes.
Step 2 — Add your French representative
Before filing a declaration you must name a representative in France. This is a person or company available throughout the posting period who can produce documents on demand from inspectors.
Step 3 — Fill in the SIPSI form
Enter the company, worker, and posting details. The form has several sections — each must be completed in full. Errors in ID numbers are the most common reason for rejection.
Step 4 — Submit the declaration
Click "Send." The system generates a SIPSI reference number. Save it — inspectors will ask for it on site.
Step 5 — Give the confirmation to the worker
The worker should carry a printed or electronic copy of the SIPSI confirmation. An inspector may request it during an on-site check.
How long is a SIPSI declaration valid?
For the specific posting period stated in the form. If the worker stays longer or new workers join, new declarations must be filed.
